The year in review...
年の瀬が迫り、仲間と集っては熱燗でもすすりつつ、移り行く木々の葉を眺めながら今年を振り返る。そんなこの時期だからこそ、On the One でもちょっと一息入れて今年を振り返ってみようかと。
とてつもなく大きな構想からすると、まだまだよちよち歩きの赤ん坊のようではあるけれど、On the One はそんな発展途上中の成長過程にすべき事全てに今年一年チャレンジしてきた。
クリエイティビティーと斬新なアイデアのエッセンスを東京の音楽シーンに注入するべく休むことを忘れ動きまわった。さらに、誰が何と言おうと、どんなに失敗すると言われても、自分の心の声に従ってきた。その結果として、Indies Playground は、日本と海外の新進気鋭、クールなバンドのみんなに支えられながら、この6ヶ月に半ダースを数える最高のイベントを開催することが出来た。
WinterKids, Asobi Seksu, Yndi Halda, Flamingo Crash, The Dirty Secrets, The Beaches, The Telephones, Noodles, The Chef Cooks Me, Avengers in Sci-Fi, Great Adventure, Eksperimentoj, Euphoria, The Spin, TsuShiMaMiRe, Jack Afro, Allrise, Weatherbox, Sphere, Luminous Orange, John’s Guerrilla, Deepsea Drive Machine, Cruyff in the Bedroom, Cryv・・・などなど。彼ら出演バンドが、近い将来世界のチャートを席巻するのは間違えない。
さらに、もうほとんどの人が知っていると思うけど、この師走にはドカンと一発、今年を締め括るに相応しいイベントを用意！スウェディッシュ・ミュージックの新たな歴史、Shout Out Louds を迎えるのは12/13 いつもの O-Nest にて。なんとあのCookie Scene からDJ を迎え、パーティーシーズンに相応しいスペシャル・ナイトを実現！毎回の事ながら、音楽だけじゃ物足りないハッピー・ヤング・ミュージック・ラバーのみんなの為に、ゲームに賞品も用意。
来年、東京に来日するクールなバンドを探す時は、Indies Playground さえチェックしてれば大丈夫！

As the year draws to a close and friends gather to reflect on the year that was while sipping warm sake and watching the leave change color, we at On the One would also like to take a moment to reflect.
Though still a baby in the grand scheme of things, On the One spent the year doing exactly what we expect our youth to do; we worked restlessly to infuse a fresh dose of creativity, innovation and into the Tokyo music scene. Further, we refused to listen to everything that everyone else told us wouldn’t work and instead chose to follow what our heart told us. The result; Indies Playground. In six months we’ve already had close to half a dozen great events supported by the best up-and-coming bands of Japan and the world.

In addition, as most of you know, we’ll be finishing the year with a bang as we will proudly host Sweden’s own Shout Out Louds on December 13th at O-Nest. This will be a wicked show supported by DJs from Cookie Scene. There will be lots of games and prizes as always and, of course, a mob of happy young music lovers.
When you’re looking for information on great bands coming to Tokyo next year, look no farther; the future is Indies Playground and On the One and the future is now.
