オールディーズ、ジャズ、カントリー、ソフトロック、ボサノヴァ・・・昭和の時代に日本の音楽シーンが影響を受けた音楽が礎となって、平成の時代に“渋谷系”なるカルチャーが生まれた。レトロ感と全く新しい音が絶妙に交差し、平成初期の若者達に支持された“渋谷系音楽”は、エレクトロや北欧ポップスとの融合を経て、さらなる進化を遂げた。そしてこのMOCCA。ネオアコ、スウェディッシュ、スキャットそんな言葉にビビッとくる人は要チェック。シンプルなネオアコをベースにフルート、ヴァイオリンのピースフルなサウンド、キュートなヴォーカル。そして、これが“ガムラン”“ジュゴク”のインドネシアから発信されたと知ってさらにビックリ！日本のインディーシーンが経験したような事がインドネシアでも巻き起こっていて、こうして同じ趣向を共有できるなんてとってもステキ！

Mocca “Colours”

With a sound born out of Japanese oldies and fused heavily with contemporary Shibuya kei styles it is easy to forget that Mocca hails not from the streets of Tokyo but rather Indonesia. Mocca exquisitely melds both retro and fresh sounds via an delicate blend of the much championed shibuya kei sounds with electro, and Scandinavian pops achieving a refined evolved sound. Fans of neo core, Swedish pop, and scat definitely need to check this one out! Starting with a neo core as a base, flutes, violins and soft vocals produce a peaceful sound. Contrary to what you might expect, this is no traditional Indonesian gamelan music!
