News worth listening to...

（ア） アイスランドの歌姫Bjork の内に秘められたボクサー魂は「空港」によって眠りから覚めるようだ。今週、ニュージーランドのオークランド空港にて、彼女が拒否したにも関わらず彼女の写真を撮ったとして、地元カメラマンに襲い掛かったBjork。1996年に勃発し話題となった、タイの空港での彼女の大立ち回り事件を覚えている人も多いはず。

（イ） 世界中で絶賛されているロック・ギター・ゲーム“ギターヒーロー”($400, http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/01/ces-peavey-may.html)だが、世界中のロック・ギタリストからの信望も厚いメーカー、Peavey が新たなコントローラーを発表。見た目も弾き心地もまるで本物のギターというこのコントローラー、様々なデザインが用意されているだけでなく、自分好みにデザインをカスタマイズも出来るという優れもの。

（ウ） ビートルズの未収録曲15曲が入ったテープが発見された。リンゴ・スター加入直後の1962年、たった2・30名の観客を前に演奏したドイツ・ハンブルグでのショーが収録されたこのテープは、彼等の長いキャリアの中でも一番古いライブ音源にあたり、ビートルズ・クラッシックともいえるラインナップになっている。

（エ） 更なる収益を生み出す為の対策として、一般企業と親密な信頼関係を築き、契約アーティストのニューリリースに絡めたスポンサー提携を進める方向性をEMIが示唆した。このプロジェクトには既にColdplay, Robbie Williams,The Verveらトップ・アーティストの名が挙がっているが、彼ら自信はその話には乗り気ではないらしい。

（オ） On the One　は新サイトの公開日を２月１日にする事を公表した。関係者によると、この新サイト、稀に見る完成度であるという。閲覧者誰もがフルセットで試聴出来る、豊富なライブ音源も含まれる。話題にあがっているこのライブ音源には、Asobi Seksu, WinterKids, Matt Pond、Shout Out Louds　らが含まれている模様。その他に関しては、間もなく発表される予定。

(ア) Airports seem to bring out the inner pugilist in Icelandic songstress Bjork. This week at Auckland International Airport, she allegedly attacked a local photographer who had taken pictures of her after she asked him not to. Many of you may remember her famed fight in Thailand in 1996.

(イ) Peavey recently unveiled their “controller” for Activision’s internationally acclaimed rock star video game, Guitar Hero ($400, http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/01/ces-peavey-may.html). The controllers, which look and feel like real guitars are available with in a variety of pre-designed graphics or can be customized with your own design.

(ウ) A tape containing 15 previously unrecorded tracks of the Beatles has been discovered. The tape, marking the first ever recorded show of The Beatles classic lineup, was recorded just after Ringo Starr joined the band for a 1962 Hamburg, Germany performance in front of a crowd of only 20-30 people.

(エ) EMI has announced that it is considering a move to generate additional revenue by allowing corporations to “sponsor”, and thus become deeply associated with, new releases by their artists. Many of the artists on the roster, including heavyweights Coldplay, Robbie Williams and The Verve, are reported to be uncomfortable with the proposed move.

(オ) On the One has set the official launch date for their new website as February 1st. Insiders who’ve seen the site tell me it is one of the most impressive sites they’ve seen in a long time. Included on the site will be an extensive library of live recordings for everyone to listen to. Among the shows rumored to be included on the site are Asobi Seksu, WinterKids, Matt Pond & Shout Out Louds. More recordings are expected to be announced soon.
