CD Review--Levelload/ Yellow Fever

ギター＆ベースのペアがかき鳴らすパンクでポップ、悪びれることなく大胆不敵・過激なリフ。そしてロック＆エレクトロなリズムマシーン。さらに潜在的に見え隠れする初期任天堂ゲーム、シンディー・ローパー的ネオン・フェチ。そして猛烈な股間への蹴り・・・正しくそんな表現がぴったりのアングロ-ジャパニーズ・デュオ, Levelload。
あからさまにパンク影響大な彼等のサウンド、さすがに音自体がよく練られているなんて事は言えないが、とにかく単純明快、「考えるよりヤレ！」的で、聞けば聞くほど好きになること間違えなし。トラック1 “HND in RNR”、トラック2 “If you Didn’t Lie to Me” さえ聴けば、このバンドのサウンドと明るい未来が一聴瞭然。
早速一聴するにあたり、俺なりのこのアルバムの楽しみ方を紹介。
まずは家具と壊れやすい物をどける。若しくはそのままでもOK。よく首を回し、ストレッチ。CDをセットして、”PLAY” ボタンを押す。腕を大きく振り上げ、ガンガンにヘッドバンギング。そして思いっきり、ムフフフ×××・・・おっと！・・・ロック・アウト！

Levelload―Yellow Fever
Pair punky, poppy, unapologetically in-your-face guitar and bass riffs with drum-machine derived rock and electro beats and then top it off with the subconscious debris of early Nintendo games, Cyndi Lauper’s neon fetish, and a fierce kick to the groin and if you are lucky you met get something along the lines of Anglo-Japanese duo Levelload. True to their punk influences, the music is not over-thought or overdone, but rather straight-forward, sincere and sure to grow on you with each additional listen. Tracks one and two “HND in RNR” and “If you Didn’t Lie to Me” should tell you all you need to know about the band and their bright future.
Before listening though, please consider my recommendation on how best to enjoy the album: Clear away furniture and breakables. Or don’t. Stretch neck thoroughly. Insert disc & push play. Swing arms wildy, bang your head ad infinitum and rock out with your c…uh, well, rock out.
